As I tried to think of a topic to write about, one of my most favourite songs of all-time, The Masterplan, written by Noel Gallagher of Manchester group Oasis, starts playing on one of the music channels. Whilst having nothing to do with online business or internet marketing, it somehow or other strikes a chord with how success can be achieved online.

Because basically you do need a (master) plan to see the results you desire. You can’t, as the ever anonymous “they” say…”wing it”.

And at the core of every Masterplan is the concept of high level leverage, that unquantifiable resource that can can quite literally blow your mind, and increase profits ten fold without you wasting extra hours upon hours in front of a computer screen.

In a nutshell, leverage is that which enables us to get to our goals in the fastest time possible.

More often than not it revolves around the concept of not trying to do everything yourself…and seeing the bigger picture.

All the traffic generation methods like SEO, article marketing, ppc, video marketing, social media etc, are without doubt valid ways of getting relevant visitors to your site, but if you’re doing it all by yourself then you are wasting a LOT of time in the grand scheme of things.

After all, time is our most precious resource and we have to utilize it to the maximum.

For instance…

If you’re an article marketer and are seeing profits…then maybe now is the time to outsource your article writing exploits so you can grow your traffic levels at a faster rate.

Or if you’re a PPC (the most sustainable form of obtaining traffic) marketer, but hate the time it takes to create your landing pages…why don’t not make use of one the plethora of website designers out there so that instead of building one landing page a week you have half a dozen being generated daily for pennies while you chase the top dollar.

And as for SEO, hiring a professional (once due diligence is carried out), is probably one of the best investments I’ve ever made, as it releases you from the sheer mind numbing-ness that it brings.

With a shift of mindset you can start obtaining mass relevant traffic as effortlessly as possible!!

Remember folks, for growth to be attained, we more often that not must go outside our comfort zone.

So what else can we leverage? Here is just a brief sample.

(a) High Paying Affiliate Programs

How about making use of profitable affiliate programs? Instead of breaking our backs to achieve a $20 commission on a clickbank product, what about going about products that reward you as much as possible for your efforts. For instance, one great high paying program is the JamesAllen.com affiliate program in the jewelry niche, with usual earnings being $210 per sale. In most cases it takes as much effort to secure the sale of a $20 item then it does a $200 one, as price expectations differ in every market you encounter.

(b) People.

Why do everything by yourself when hundreds, if not thousands of people will do it for you as your affiliate? This is the enviable position a product owner can find herself/himself in when being at the top of the food chain. While work does go into support, product management/improvement, development/programming, affiliate management, up-sell/down-sell/continuity implementation, the opportunities are incredible, and if you have an affiliate army behind you, taking care of traffic generation, you can focus on converting that traffic into sales and building your business even further.

Alongside affiliates, you can also broker JV deals with the “big dogs” in your market and network with other knowledgeable folks (the experts). All this fits in with the aim of slashing learning curves, making more profits and creating GROWTH.

And finally, you can leverage highly qualified individuals that have the skills which you need to succeed. Whether it be product creation, website design, opt-in reports, graphic design, video creation etc, someone else can take care of it, thus removing all barriers that may have stood in your way to success

(c) Profitable Websites.

Any profitable website has a great potential for a lump sum payment. Generally speaking a website can be sold for 10-12 times its monthly revenue, so if you buy an established website, increase its inherent value (ie. employ a few marketing techniques) then you can take advantage of this rule as it were, for a handsome pay day if you so desire.

(d) Autoresponders

Building an email list is a prerequisite these days as it allows you to convert generally at a much higher rate MULTIPLE times. Through building a relationship with subscribers by offering value, support and peerless recommendations you will see your affiliate and/or your own product earnings sky rocket.

So in conclusion, don’t focus on doing everything yourself. Create your plan, offset as much as possible when you can (without reducing quality of output) and you will see results coming in much much quicker. You may have to initially do it all by yourself before you can invest, but remember money is not the only thing you need to get what you want.

Bartering (offering one service in exchange for another) is a way to get what you need to grow without paying. For instance, if you need a website designed, offer instead of cash, to write articles for the designer, or anything that will benefit him/her which is in your realm of capabilities.

Seven Deadly Sins of Your AdWords Account

Advertising on Google seems like a no brainer to many people. After all, how much brainpower does it take to create a simple ad and choose a couple of keywords? Based on my experience with auditing AdWords accounts lately, plenty of people share this belief and dive into paid search without any doubts.

Look at this checklist to see if your AdWords account is guilty of any of the common Google AdWords sins listed below:

1) Content and search network are in the same campaign

Why it's bad: Paid search works so well partially because it attracts people who are already searching for what you have to offer. When it comes to the content network, the story is different because the ads are served alongside the content the user is reading. It does not mean that content ads are a waste of time and money. It simply means that the rules of the game are different.

The punishment for this sin varies from overpaying for every click to killing the results you could be getting for your media dollars.

2) All keywords are broad match

As defined by Google, broad match keyword allows your ad to show on similar phrases and relevant variations. Basically, it means that your ads ads are matched to all kids of queries and you are overpaying on exact and phrase variations of the words.

3) There are no negative keywords

The punishment may be harsh in some cases, depending on your keyword list, but the idea behind negative keywords is to ensure your ad doesn't show for any search that is irrelevant (i.e. if you are selling custom bay windows, you do not want your ads to map to Microsoft Windows).

If your account has been running for a while without negatives, run a Search Query Report to identify the negatives you should add ASAP.

4) There's no tracking whatsoever

If you aren't tracking your results, there's no way of knowing if paid search works for you. Neither is there any data to help you make strategic decisions and optimize the account to deliver optimal results. But the biggest punishment is when things stop working and you can't see what went wrong.

5) You are chasing position 1

Vanity is never a good thing, but this is especially true in regards to paid search. It is a known fact that position one gets the most clicks, however, these clicks are known to have questionable quality as the user is likely to click on the first ad they see without really reading it. As a result, they click right out of it, but you still get charged for it. Big time.

6) Not using dayparting (ad scheduling)

Ad scheduling can help you improve your ROI by ensuring that your ads run when it makes the most business sense. For instance, a local business may only want to run their ads during business hours, or an online retailer may want to boost their bids during their busier-than-normal lunchtime shopping period.

7) All traffic goes to a homepage

This is typical and I see this across the board, yet it is the worst way to spend your media. Do take the time to think about a good landing page that helps you and the user meet the objective.

A while back I was talking to a friend of mine who is a successful online marketer. In her business, she mostly focuses on selling reports. Basically these are "mini ebooks" or reports that usually have a "how to" theme. So they are usually guides about "how to do this" or "how to approach this subject."

She keeps the information simple in her reports and she is making more than $100,000 a year from just the publishing part of her business. I was once a journalism major, and my friend has been telling me for years that I should start creating and selling my own reports online.

Ultimate Income Plan begins with Sara telling you why you need quick cash injections. As she puts it there are some of us who do not have savings and "There are often financial emergencies and unexpected bills that require a sudden cash injection to rectify." She then goes on to explain how you can generate these quick cash injections in three basic timeframes; 24-72 hours, 1 week, and 2+ weeks. She then sums up the ebook and outlines why soon it will be necessary to generate quick cash injections using the "Pensions Crisis" (where thousands of people are now facing a bleak retirement due to having ten years salary stolen from them) as an example.

As expected I found this ebook to be a very interesting read. I feel some of the methods Sara uses are very good and some are not so good. To conduct this review I will outline each cash injection below and how effective I think it is.

Sara's first cash injection is reselling ebooks on eBay. She believes that this can provide you with a quick cash injection within 24-72 hours. Whilst the actual chapter does outline some useful tips for ebook sellers (such as using a unique listing title), I have to disagree with the timeframe Sara uses. As I outline in my own ebook "How to set up a Successful, Automated, Ebook Business on eBay" the ebook market on eBay is now very competitive. Simply listing the ebook on eBay does not guarantee you a sale. I think the best method of selling ebooks on eBay is to build a large, constantly expanding, automated ebook business on eBay which requires regular promotion. To achieve this will take considerably longer than 24-72 hours and I personally would not class this method as a quick cash injection.

The next cash injection is making money from other people's mistakes. I can't go into too much detail as it will give too much away but I have to agree that this is a very good quick cash injection. When I launched "How to set up a Successful, Automated, Ebook Business on eBay" I made quite a few mistakes, some which could have potentially been very damaging to my sales. Luckily for me I had someone identify these mistakes free of charge, and all before the product was launched. However, I have learnt from this the value of checking for mistakes. The earlier they are identified, the less damaging they can be. Now as I said I can't reveal exactly how exactly you can make money from other people's mistakes but it is one of the better 24-72 hour cash injections included in Quick Cash Injections.

The third cash injection is Ebay Arbitrage. Now most Ebay Arbitrage systems I have seen involve a misspelling tool which is still an effective tool but is becoming increasingly widely used. Sara's arbitrage system involves simply buying goods off eBay and reselling them on eBay for a higher price. I can't say anymore as it will reveal exactly what she does. Sara also includes an example of the system in action with examples of real goods she has purchased and sold on eBay. This is a good cash injection with the potential for high profit margins but it does require more time than some of the other methods outlined.

Next up is the 1 week cash injections. The first involves buying and selling domain names. This is again another excellent cash injection. Sara gives plenty of good tips in this chapter on which domains should be popular and which domains may not be so popular. She also provides a great resource to get free appraisals on domain names. Although I have not personally dabbled in this area, I have seen others do it successfully so know that there is potential for high profits. Also, it can all be done without even having to leave your PC so I can again see this as being a great method to get quick cash injections.

The second 1 week cash injection involves selling disks (CDs). You don't need your own product but there are various legal guidelines you need to be aware of when embarking upon this cash injection. Sara outlines them all inside the ebook. My overall opinion on this cash injection is that although it will work I don't think it is worth the effort when compared to some of the other cash injections mentioned. This idea involves sourcing, packing, and shipping whereas for some of the other injections you don't have to leave your PC.

The next cash injection involves freelance writing. In this section Sara provides you with an excellent free resource on which contains a database of thousands of jobs for freelance writers. Most people are an expert at something so this is a cash injection worth considering. Personally, I am in two minds about this subject. On the one hand it would be great for me to be paid for writing articles similar to those that I already do. On the other hand if I did write freelance articles for others, I would not be able to use these as promotional tools like I currently do. Overall, opinion on this cash injection is likely to be divided and it all comes down to how you want to use your writing skills.

Following the previous cash injection, Sara provides two website links. The first is a website that lists goods that people don't want anymore. If you want that person's goods then they will give them to you for free. What you do with it after is up to you but this is a potentially useful cash injection. The second website is a free list of 1000 money making ideas. I have read a few of the ideas and some are very easy to set up, some not so easy. However, both these websites are a useful bonus and could easily provide quick cash injections.

After this section comes the 2+ weeks cash injections. The first of these is paid online surveys. In this section Sara outlines why you should never pay for access to surveys (to summarise companies aren't allowed to make you pay to perform market research). She then provides you with a website that gives you access to many free paid surveys. This is an invaluable link as many ebooks charge you for this very information. I personally don't rate paid surveys too highly. Although you do get paid for sitting at your PC and filling out a survey (which is simple enough) I find it quite boring. If you feel that the money outweighs the boredom or actually enjoy doing surveys then this could be a good cash injection for you to try.

The next cash injection is the car boot sale method. Again I can't say too much or I will reveal exactly what it is but this is one of my favourites in the ebook. The car boot sale method is basically a technique that Sara uses herself to get goods from a car boot at well below the price they are being sold (and no she doesn't steal them). Once aquired these goods can be sold separately on eBay or at the place where Sara herself sells them (again I can't reveal it here). Using this method Sara says that she bought some stock from a car boot for £60 and then sold it for £1,920. Although I haven't tried this method it does sound like an excellent way to generate a lot of cash for very little work.

The final cash injection is creating your own software without being an expert programmer (or even amateur programmer). Again I can't reveal how you achieve this here (it's all revealed in the ebook) but I can tell you that all you have to do is come up with the idea i.e. what function do you want the software to fulfill. Now this income stream will cost you a bit of money to set up but in my opinion the potential returns are well worth it. Out of all the methods mentioned in Quick Cash Injections I think this is one of the best and one that I am seriously considering looking into in the future.

Overall, Quick Cash Injections comes with a mix of ideas but thankfully the good outweighs the bad. I personally don't think that the ebooks with resell rights chapter would serve as a very good quick cash injection and I don't rate paid online surveys highly, but on the other hand I think the car boot method and creating your own software cash injections are some of the best money making ideas I have come across. The ebook is worth it's price for these methods alone.

GOOD POINTS

· The making money from other people's mistakes cash injection can generate money within a couple of days, for very little work, without you having to leave your PC.

· The Ebay Arbitrage System with a little creative thinking can be another great quick cash injection and could even be used as a long term business.

· Buying and selling domains allows you to generate cash from the comfort of your own PC.

· The car boot sale method is a unique, easy to implement idea, which requires little time and can produce huge profit margins.

· The creating your own software cash injection can be used by anyone, and for a small initial investment, could make you a LOT of money.

BAD POINTS

· I don't think that reselling ebooks on eBay qualifies as a quick cash injection.

· Selling disks (CDs) takes a reasonable amount of time and only produces very small profit margins.

· Paid online surveys can be long, tiring, and often boring.

· The delivery system delays your access to the ebook which I found quite annoying.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM QUICK CASH INJECTIONS

At the moment I have not implemented the ideas from Quick Cash Injections. The reason for this is that I do not require any quick cash injections at the moment and also I am pursuing more long-term money making methods. However, I could definitely see myself using some of the ideas in the future, especially the creating your own software one. Next time I end up at a car boot sale (although I don't go very often) the car boot sale method will prove a nice little earner.

Shaking Your Money Tree: Seven Ways to Make Quick Cash

Does your business have a money tree you can shake when a little extra cash is needed? Every business should have one!

What I mean by a money tree is something you can do to quickly generate revenue when you need it. Where can you find a money tree? Although you can't buy one at your local garden store, they are more common than you might imagine. Just as in a forest, there are many species of money trees, so you need to find one that is right for you. Here are a few common varieties:

The Sale Tree brings in cash by making a discount offer to customers. Buy before June 30th, and you get a lower price. This creates a sense of urgency for customers to buy now in order to save money and can create a new flow of sales for you.

The Bonus Tree can work like the Sale, but instead of a discount, customers get a free item with purchase. Buy one, get one free, for example, or buy this item and get a free accessory. You might make the bonus item something only available as a bonus, and not available to buy. Booklets, books, audio programs and other items with a low production cost and high perceived value are great bonus items.

Generate cash with the New Product Tree by introducing a new product. Customers love new things, so announce it with a flourish. You might cross the New Product tree with the Sale or Bonus tree to get a hybrid with extra appeal.

Shake the Personal Touch Tree by contacting current or former customers and reminding them it may be time to do business with you again. Perhaps the supplies they bought from you a few months ago are running low, or it's time for a follow-up service.

The Referral Tree should be in bloom all the time, but you can get better results when you tend it. Do a mailing or phone campaign to ask current customers to refer their friends and colleagues. You may be able to generate lots of sales quickly this way.

The Cold Call Tree can be hard to shake, but the results can be worthwhile. Identify your best prospects and call or visit them.

One of my favorites is the Publicity Tree. It's an odd one, in that you never know when it is going to bloom, or what it will look like when it does; however, the results are often magnificent. Provide a jumpstart in its growth by regularly sending press releases and pitches to the media.

Decide which money tree is right for your business, then nurture it and keep it growing. And, every once in a while, shake the heck out of it and watch the dollars come floating down!
